hey, stargazers!

welcome to our latest newsletter post where we're diving deep into the 4th house in astrology. i've got a personal story to share that really highlights the significance of this house in our birth charts. today, we'll be covering everything from what the 4th house represents to how it influences our home life, family dynamics, and even our inner emotional world.

understanding the 4th house is crucial for anyone looking to get a more holistic view of their astrological profile. so sit back, relax, & let's explore the mysteries of the 4th house together.

happy reading!

understanding the 4th house

have you ever been looking at a chart & found yourself to be a bit..perplexed? well, that’s me when i look at water houses. now i think to myself: as an experienced astrologer, (i have been studying astrology since i was 12 & practicing since 2012) i should have this down to memory by now! but even i go through periods of ebb when the chart dots on the star map just do not connect.

can you relate?

it doesn’t matter if it’s the water houses (houses 4, 8 & 12) or some other chart factor that is particularly vexing. outer planetary placements, anyone?!

in any case, the 4th house is an important & powerful house. one, because it’s angular, meaning it is one of the angles (in placidus houses these are the cusps of the 1, 4, 7 & 10 houses where the ac, ic, dc & mc are located.). angular houses are considered powerful houses!

the reason the 4th house is important is because it is the cassis of the chart! it is the foundation on which the rest of the chart rests. & it is at the extreme bottom of the chart. the 4th house is about home, roots, heritage, early childhood nurturing, family, family traditions & our ‘way back’ people (aka our ancestors).

so when we want to better understand how our childhood nurturing impacted us, the 4th house is great place to start! as we all know, given how prominent psychology has become & its focus on early childhood nurturing in understanding our own complex emotional make-up & inner world.

in the case of my own chart, i have taurus on the cusp & maverick centaur, chiron, located here. that means, for me, my early childhood impacted my self worth, my body image & my relationship with money.

as you can see, the 4th house can tell us alot about people at their core, their essential selves.
